Production Numbers???

The big talk all over the dealerships and and media is how the V-Series is a limited production "exclusive" car. My attempts to find out just how exclusive have proved fruitless so far.

I asked the dealer... They don't know.

I asked the regional Cadillac rep.... The closest he would say is that about 10% of all STS models built were "V"'s

I asked Cadillac and this is the response I got...

However, we do not have figures for the STS-V. This is a limited production vehicle and figures are not released. There were 33,539 STS vehicles produced in 2006.

Surely we have someone here on the board with access. I am curious about the entire "V" line... not just the STS-V.

back in feb, i thought someone at our dealer stated the production numbers for the xlr-v was 1200 and the sts-v was 3200. i will try to verify today.

What specific answers are you looking for?
You want production numbers for all V models or breakdown by model?
(CTS, STS, XLR)
I might be able to get numbers for some of them from my contacts at GM.
I hate to bug them about something too trivial so the more specific the question the better.

Well, I think every "V" owner would like to know the breakdown by both year and model. That is the main goal here. My suspision is that the STS-V will have some pretty low numbers due to the late start and shortage of parts.

A bonus would be to get the breakdown by color since those are limited as well. As you said, this may be prying too far... I'll take waht I can get and be happy.

I assume that all 2006 production has been completed and all work is currently for 2007 models.

Here is the information I got from my friend at the plant.

I know it's not complete but it's as close to actual production numbers as I can get.

Heck, Corvette releases number by color for each year. In fact, a spreadsheet is available showing all options, colors, Freq count, etc.

Maybe Cadillac buyers just do not have enough clout, or maybe Cadillac charges extra for that kind of info.
