I bet it was a marketing guy who decreed that the STS-V must have a Northstar engine - one of the weakest in the V8 stable. Add a N/A LS7 or a blown LS2 and you have BMW beating power in a much more comfortable package.

Both the M5 and E55 have flaws. The M5 shifts like a 70 Nova with a shift kit when left in full automatic. The E55 thinks electronics should run the show.

The opening is there - Cadillac has to see it.
MCaesar, here I am about to lambast GM, then I see your post. And, GM could have had a real BMW whupper. After declining my STS-V order, I looked at a M5. No. Then I talked to Mallet about doing up a STS. Maybe, if enough of us asked Mallet to produce a 6.0 liter engine and all of the other components, that will shame GM into making a real STS.

Re: the facts between cts-v and sts-v

No a knock, just a correction (correct me if I am wrong).

    The CTS-V HAS:
    Power reclining front seats
    ACTIVE STEERING EFFORT COMPENSATION STABILITRAK
AUTOMATIC FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG SUPPRESSION (except 04 Vs)
Performance suspension (the TRACK suspension is additional)
1 year of directions and connections onstar
Manual 6-speed Transmission (which some see as a positive)
Competition mode (does the STS-V have this?)
Me (do I count?)- Urby too (does he count?)

    The STS-V has:
    HID Fog lights (I believe)
    More passenger space
    Red interior option
    Clear DRLs
    500 more LBS

I actually like this post and may mirror it on cadillacfaq.com (because it covers both cars!). Great list!

    Thanks,

    Reed
