    Aluminum Trunk Tie-Down Knobs

    Hey,

I know I haven't spent a lot of time in your neck of the woods, but I figured that I'd throw a line out and see if anyone knew if the STS-V shared the same, crappy plastic trunk tie-down knobs that we CTS-V guys have. If so, you may want to check this out:

    http://vseriesforums.com/forums/topi...age-3#entry824

SevillianSTS's brother just had a baby, and these side projects are helping pay for some unforeseen medical expenses--so it's for a good cause. Also, is there any interest in helping us figure out whether CTS-V and STS-V polyurethane mounts are cross-compatible?

Yup, we have the same ones. Half of mine are broken.

Most of my original plastic ones are broken too. It was difficult to get them to stay on the threaded studs, let alone hold the tension of the net. The aluminum ones are freaking solid--I'm not sure whether the threaded studs would break before the knobs, but it'd be a close fight.

By the way, I haven't started putting out feelers to the ATS, CTS-V2, and STS community yet because we're still polishing the functionality of the website. To be honest, I'm not sure if there's enough STS-V owners out there to make having a STS-V section on VSF worthwhile, but I guess you guys will let me know whether to keep it or not.

That is an awesome idea! I would be in for a set, and I bet my brother in law would want maybe 2 sets, If he has the same set up in his cars. 04 Monte and a 04 Grand Am

I'm quite certain that GM used the same thread on virtually everything, at least 2000K+ and newer. Those are about the only non-OE item I think I'd put in my car. I could be interested in some...

I feel like I'm already pushing the limits of the rules by even mentioning this DIY project on the Cadillac Forums (we had a huge blowup on the V1 subforum a few months back regarding DIY projects and 90%+ of us left for VSF and LS1Tech), so I would either identify your interest to SevillianSTS on VSF yourself, or I'll talk to him and see if I can get an alternative contact method set up.

I would love these for tie does for the Lloyd mats I have. I lost the crap plastic ones that came with them. I would love some of these.

I followed the thread on the cts-v 1 forum for a while but wasn't sure it was a fit for STS. If it's a fit I'm in. However many we have +2. Ready to buy.

There were talks about that on the thread. I think it's gonna be on you to turn them black. Who knows maybe the silver will look nice.

I don't mind them silver. Might just buy and extra and get it black and see how it looks. How much are these for a full set +1? I'm sure the price is on another forum, but I am to tired and lazy to look right now.

They're $10 apiece. I got 10 (8 are required, so I have two spares now) for $106 shipped.
