I absent-mindedly polished one of my extra tie-downs using Mother's California Gold Chrome Polish and a microfiber towel. The results were pretty remarkable.
Unpolished on the left, polished on the right:
If you're curious, I posted the entire set of pictures up on VSF. My next step is to try polishing them with some Mother's Metal Billet Polish, which is formulated specifically for aluminum.
Mine came in today. I plan on polishing them the way you did and then installing.
I tracked the package, it was insured, it got here when it was supposed to, it was packaged well. Cushioned well with no chance of them banging against one another causing scratches. And the product is clearly good. Good business. I'm glad I did this.
I got mine also. Great looking work and easy to purchase. Very happy I did this as well.
Looks like Fuzzylogic got banned. I hope it wasnt for these tie downs.
No, I think he and some others tangled in another thread and it got bad. They cleaned it up before I could see it ......
See post 26.
This is a cool product. I've always thought the trunk knobs were cheap looking and feeling.
What are those things with the V logo on them?
The door lock pulls.
Uhh you're kidding right? How are those door lock pulls installed? Do they just slide on over the existing knobs? They seem nice.
The metal would be more sturdy than the plastic oem parts.
Metal door handles for the inside doors would be nice too. Nice metal knobs to replace the existing ones for radio volume, etc.
Google how to remove a door panel. Watch the video from A1 auto, they'll show how to remove one of the locks.
The base CTS has Chrome handles, not a cheap project though....
