Yes that one censer is just left open. The supercharger should have oil in it. But it not hard to check if its still off the car but I guessing its not any more. As for filling the coolant yes you can fill the system some using the to top plate. But you will need to finish it buy using the fill tube. That's the one on the left side of the car when looking under the hood. lt will take a fue days too a week to get it full full.

Okay. Started the car today. At idle and to about 1500 rpm's the engine has a whistle. BAD! I thought it was one of the two idler pulleys. No they are fine. It seems to be coming from the front of the of the blower!!!! The whistle is load and very annoying. Any one know how to check (for sure) if the unit has oil????

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Are you sure you lined the intake gaskets properly? That can be a challenge.

Pretty darn sure. They have those little nipples to align them. Set it straight down on them. Noise sounds like the front shaft of the blower. I am scared I'm going to damage the unit. How do I know if it has oil in it?

There is an Allen plug on the front of the snout. Take that out and stick something in there. See if there is oil on it. Oil should be up to that plug or just below.

I am concerned about the noise. I may pull the blower back off or, at least head in that direction. Something is not right and I don't want to damage the new blower. (my old one went out at 37K miles), and don't need this headache again.

Yea no one asked what went wrong with the old blower. They should easily go 100k from the factory.

Bearing noise. Dealer said it was going out. Can you believe it 37K miles! But i wonder if it all had to do with the "pepto Bismol" thing that happened? That is when the transmission cooler inside the radiator broke contaminating the dexi-cool (looked like pepto bismol). GM paid for half that repair, but would not touch this one.

I think you got the shaft. The engine coolant and supercharger are separate. I will buy your old supercharger if you still have it.

Okay. The noise is crazy. Can a few of you give me your phone number or email. I would like to send the audio of the " noise" to some of you for identification. I really sounds like it is coming from the snout of the beast!

It takes like 6oz. So it takes a little over 1 4oz bottle. Get two bottles. I think the GM branded stuff is 4oz. Tim sells it.

    It's around 6-7oz. You need one 6oz bottle or two 4oz. I use 6oz.

Re: Supercharger Replacement on STS-V (step by step)

I am waiting on my supercharger oil, so I decided to practice getting ready to add new oil to SC. I opened up the OLD super and guess what? No oil inside! I wonder if when they did the radiator replacement(see reason above), they meant to replace the oil and never did? That could explain why it only went 1000 miles before this????
