I thought the same when I got mine black chromed but you still have to clean them to look nice or they look dull greyish after a drive or two around town.

The factory pads work great, but that crazy dust. I clean them after almost every time I drive. That would be a nice advantage of black wheels.

You're really starting to piss me off, Rob. I went out this morning and there was a dusting of snow and it was 17 degrees!

The paint looks bright and the rear door looks "tiger striped". It could be just the way it looks on my phone though.

That angle and exact lighting definitely brings out the depth to the paint. And I see the tiger stripe thing. Looks like what you would see when you look at the windows of a car with polarized glasses from the outside. I'm guessing that camera doesn't have a polarized lens though right?

Yeah, that's just a cell phone pic. Only at certain angles can you see that effect. Most cars with any kind of metal flake will show some form of "stripe" at certain angles... If you guys ever had any sunshine, you would notice it on yours as well I'm sure. LOL
My woman's silver Toyota 4runner is the same and we bought it new...

Another angle... You can still see a bit of the stripe effect. I'll have to start taking picture when it's not so bright out. Oh wait.... not sure that ever happens in SoCal! I guess I could try night photos

Re: To All The Silver V Owners

I've been outside of ny for 1 Christmas. I can't do a warm Christmas. Just doesn't feel right. Tints definitely clean up the look on the car by the way.

Re: To All The Silver V Owners

    I vote to ban Rob.

It's March, I still have piles of snow on the ground, and it's 15* out this morning with wind chills in the single digits. I'm so freaking tired of winter already... This one has been a nasty one.

I did go look at mine on Saturday. Put insurance back on it, so once these snow piles melt, and it maintains reasonable temps, I can take it out.

I'd advise keeping some auto insurance on it all year. Some call it "comprehensive" some call it "other than collision" basically you can keep that on it to cover "acts of god". Say while stored the roof of the building collapses under the weight of snow and crushes the car. I wouldn't rely on just the homeowner insurance to cover the damages to the car or if it gets stolen or that building burns down with the car in it ...

Yes, it has comprehensive on it. I guess my wording should have been "reinstate" full coverage.
