Last week as I was cleaning the engine, yes toothbrush and all, the thought occurred to me to personally thank the man who built my engine. After all, I'm sure he took tremendous pride in doing so.
I googled his name and come to find out he has sadly passed. Only 53, he work for GM his entire life. His obit was simple and he had a wife and 3 children. It also said he loved cars.
I want to write his wife and let her know how much I appreciate this motor. Not one issue, and I I'm sure she would feel comforted in knowing. So if there are any David Faith engines out there and you want her to know, I'll get a contact address and we can show some compassion. I know this post doesn't make my car go any faster or tout its performance, but it does make me stop and think of how lucky we are to have these cars.
You'll see that they didn't only build our engines. I'm in possession of 2 Vs and both engine builders' names show up on that list. David faith didn't build either of mine though.
Saw the pics of your V's Guy. Love the exhaust. I was an embalmer, back in my earlier years, so the compassion seems to happen naturally. I' love to see how many David Faiths are out there
Wow excellent idea and very thoughtful. http://m.corvetteforum.com/1585876222-post3785.html?styleid=140 You'll see that they didn't only build our engines. I'm in possession of 2 Vs and both engine builders' names show up on that list. David faith didn't build either of mine though.
Honestly I doubt it. If there was one it would probably exist right here on cadillacforums if anywhere. But I'm pretty sure one hasn't been compiled exclusively for the LC3. What we do know is that those who built LC3s didn't build them exclusively.

Well according to this the xlr-v didn't get the name plates until 2007 as well.
Agreed. Unfortunately many people probably don't mess around under the hood so it might be a reach to get them to remove the engine cover to check. But yeah that should be a column added.
I'll add it if people wish to give me that info. Maybe when I get a chance, I will draft up the list of all members here who have added to the registry and make a post in my registry thread.
I would love to build a list. The link Guy provided at the beginning of the thread was interesting. I'm sure GM plucked their best and it must of been considered somewhat of an honor to be a part of the program. I'm in.
Mine is a 2006 and the engine was built by Bob Vernier, now retired. Back in 2008, I sent an email to the plant and they kindly replied with the information.
