Cadillac STS-V Series Forum Discussion, Passenger Door and trunk will not work in Cadillac V-Series Forums; Has anyone had experience with passenger door not working from the outside. Light wont come on like normal. I must ...
Does the door open when you pull the handle outside though? Or is that inoperative too?
If it's a matter of the passenger side doesn't unlock and the trunk doesn't respond to the FOB, that is a communications issue with the receiving module(s) located at various points through the car, in this case it sounds like the passenger side/rear antenna's may not be picking up the signal. At which point you then have to determine whether or not it's a FOB issue (low battery, resynching issue, etc), or if it's the module.

Re: Passenger Door and trunk will not work
Sounds like the passenger door handle is bad. I've seen that before. The tiny switches in it aren't working right. A new door handle is around $80-$90 from the dealer. You just need the part that goes inside the door, not the actual handle.
The inside door handle is connected to the latch with a cable. The outside one is strictly electrical. That's why the inside works and the outside doesn't.
I've seen the trunk button go bad too. I replaced the button part on a car once but that did not fix it. I sold that car and got one with a working button so I don't know how to fix that.
Has anyone had experience with passenger door not working from the outside. Light wont come on like normal. I must open from inside only. Trunk will not pick up fob but will work if you push fob.
