The V does not have Magnetic Ride Control which is the options in the Nav you are talking about.

You could probably change your springs out to the softest FE1 springs from the non-V STS.

Oh god, don't do that to the poor thing!

It's 8 years old. How many miles? When's the last time it's been on a lift and the suspension inspected?

Why would you but a proformce car and then want it to ride soft????

Ctsv do not ride and softer and they do have the 3 stage settings. I did the water test with a Ctsv and my v on the same road and the same speeds and got the same results.

    Re: STS - V suspension

I'm wondering if some of the suspension components are shot and that is making it ride harshly rather than a stiff performance ride.

Ditto - Ditch the run flats. Huge difference in ride quality.

    Re: STS - V suspension

Speaking of "run craps" I drove up to ny this past weekend and I was traveling from queens to Atlantic city area to visit relatives. Got over the gw bridge, got on the garden state pkwy headed south and not long after, I got a check tire pressure. Ran through the readings. "0 PSI RR TIRE." I was about 40 minutes into my trip, another hour to go. Headed back to queens and made it with 0 psi. Went to a local gas station and they patched the hole. Nice size hole too. They really are annoyingly noisy but they definitely saved my ass this past weekend.

Isn't it true that not all shops can patch the run flats. If it is then you might be lucky to stop at the right one.

    Re: STS - V suspension

I remember hearing that so I googled it and they said you could. Actually.. They plugged it. But now that I made it back to nc and I'm having other work done, I mentioned the story in passing and he said they'll take a look at it and patch it. I'll keep you posted.

    Re: STS - V suspension

Run flats were plugged. Shop said they couldn't remove it and replace it with a patch because it was too close too the sidewall. Still tread but too close. About 1 1/2 inch away FYI. He also said that run flats can in fact be patched.

    Re: STS - V suspension

Believe me I'm with you. It was nice to be saved by those tires but before I picked up this v with lower miles, I bought a set of conti dws for my first v. The car I just picked up had the Pirelli run flats. I've already swapped the all seasons onto the car I'm keeping.
