STS-V Continuing to disappoint. Engine power reduced and Ignition shut off lights.

I was at ared light and my Engine power reduced light came on, after limoing into a parking lot, the ignition shut off light came on and the car lost power steering etc. I unplugged the battery and its been fine, I ve only driven it like 5 min after it happened today. I still have the lean codes as well as the t/c and abs. Anyone know what is going on?? I'm trading it in next week just want it to be ok. Because I work at the dealership.

I'm not saying this will fix it but...on my wife's TBSS she had the 'reduced engine power' light come on last week. I disconnected the battery and it came back on a day later. Next, I pulled the throttle body off and cleaned it. Reinstalled, disconnected the battery and it hasn't been on since. Without a scan tool, it's kinda hard to know for sure what the issue is but it 'fixed' it for me.

How hard is it to pull the throttle body??

    ----------

It did say "starting disabled, throttle problem" after saying "engine power reduced."

If you work at a dealership see if one of the techs will hook it up to a Tech II and see what it says.

I will try to find someone with one, I am trying to trade it in to my dealership so I don't really want to have all the problems known. Off hand is there common things that go that would cause this, a friend said running lean, trans, etc. I think I have at least one bad cat and an 02 sensor, So I was leaning toward the running lean..

It's all guess work till you get the codes pulled. Go to autozone and have them do it if you don't want to do it at work.

Ok, I understand. I'm just terrified that the car is going to break down on me on the way there in the middle of a main stretch. I'll keep the thread updated and I appreciate all the help/input. With that being said, anyone want a STS-V.

Hugh, I got your car. we are starting with fuel filter then checking fuel pressure. Filter is almost completely plugged so we need to ck pump. It is missing so bad that I'm thinking fuel pump. I don't have time to ck now. Out of town for a week but I will update you. The other light on the dash have went out and came back on. Air bag light is off now. The wheel bearings are so bad this could be the problem. If it is the control unit I'm ok I still have my wrecked STS. You really had kept this thing looking good. This is my second STS V I also had a 2008. My wrecked STS is a platinum and window stickered for more than my V. 2006 with 163,000 and the air bag light acted up on it once in a while. Other than that best car ever. Ill keep you updated.
