I've always argued this with F-Body and GTO owners that being loud just for the sake of being loud, doesn't always sound good.

I wouldn't go that far. Unless I were selling it maybe.

It sounds like I hit a pothole and lost a muffler. Just rumbling. A stock exhaust on my Trans am sounded better. Not sure what's up with it.

    Yeouch.

Well, I'm really kinda trying to figure everything out as it stands, before I go funneling money into the car. Everything will be tasteful, including a more aggressive and louder (but not ridiculous) exhaust. I've been around cars so long I actually found the exact sound I want - a friend's otherwise "stock" 02 SLP edition SS Camaro with Borla catback. Didn't care for the Borla tips, but otherwise it was pretty much exactly the sound I have in my head. I just don't know if the 4.4 will make that same satisfying rumble, or how to approach that sound. Honestly I've never put that much thought into how my car *sounds* except as it pertained to performance.

Borla, on an LSx F-Body is actually one of those systems that I would always argue that being loud for the sake of being loud, doesn't sound good. They sound like someone is shaking a tin can full of rocks. On other engines (older LT1's for example), they sound excellent. There is just something about the LSx, it's firing order, cam profiles that just don't sound good with a Borla. The same thing with Flowmaster. Flowmasters on an old school BBC or even a mustang, sound flipping awesome. On an LSx... NO!
