    Re: Engine hot ac off

FYI this happened to me a couple of months ago. I pulled over and did a google search of the error message and the word "cadillacforums." Definitely tstat but some mentioned that for the time being disconnect and reconnect the battery. I did that, message went away and hasn't been back since. We're talking a few thousand miles later.

Spend the $15 and get a new T-Stat. Take you about 30 minutes to replace it.

Two 10mm bolts hold the housing down. don't worry about removing any hoses.

I didn't replace my gasket, it's a rubber o-ring in the shape on a number 8. weird i know. It took me about 2 hours to do mine, but i took off the two hoses to it and other various ones to gain access to the Tstat housing. I also removed the first part of the air intake, so I could get my fat hands down there. Oh and be careful oh hot coolant, this beast holds its heat for quite a while. And I used one gallon of premixed coolant. Dexcool of course.

I had the same problem. New V owner. Took it to my mechanic and he said just needed a reboot of the computer....$ 100 later. It went away for 5 days and them same error popped up. Read the posts in this forum and disconnected the battery posts as suggested and all is going good....... So far. My mechanic charged me $100 to reset the computer?????
