    Re: Engine hot ac off

I got this message when I got off the highway two weeks ago. I pulled the thermostat the next morning when the car was cool. Not only did I not have to add any fluid but it fixed the problem. Who ever told you NOT to change the thermostat is flat out ignorant

    Re: Engine hot ac off

Jeez. Do the battery reset and if it comes back replace the tstat. Clearly it's a common issue. BUT when it happened to me a LONG time ago, I did the battery thing as a temporary thing before getting the tstat replaced (so I could get the damn ac on) and 3 months and a few thousand miles later wouldn't you know it.. The message hasn't come back. Not sure anyone here is ignorant. You can't argue with results. Just about 100% of the time the tstat replacement solves the problem and it would've solved mine too but for whatever reason, the $free battery disconnect reconnect did it for me. I have no doubt I will have to replace the tstat at some point in the future but I successfully delayed it significantly.

It doesn't hurt to do the battery thing. If nothing else, just do it and drive to the store, pick up the tstat, and wait till it comes back. Then replace.

Did I miss something Guy? The OP hasn't posted anything in a while and he did say earlier that he did the battery reset.

Right before you I see someone who fixed theirs with the T-stat.

Arigold. And if he wasn't suggesting that someone with this issue shouldn't bother trying to do the battery thing then my post should be disregarded altogether.

I disconnected the battery and the code went away but I also replaced the thermostat just Incase. Then I took it to the track and ran a 7 seconds I'm the 1/8 mile at 81mph no issues since then
