    ok....

Used the gear ratio info they had to put together a model for MPH RPM Gear .... Feel free to look over and let me know if the math looks right.

    Thanks

Maybe on a dyno with no wind resistance, but I doubt the graph is linear once you get past 50 or 60 mph due to wind resistance and other such factors (mechanical resistance, etc). 254 mph? Didn't know we were competing with the Veyron!

    - Yeah I didn't account for wind resistance..... I could probably tweak it the next time I'm bored.
    - 255 MPH, I just calculated out to 6600 RPM for all gears. Never said you'd actually make it that fast!

Your two biggest variables above 120MPH are wind resistance and the significant loss of torque in 5th and 6th gear (both overdrive gears). I can still pull in 5th, but the tranny does not like it. Luckily, in the Texas Mile, I was only in 5th for a few seconds on one of my runs.

I also know for a fact (two years of Hot Rod Power Tour) that I can cruise all day long in 6th at 2200RPM averaging 100MPH.... hmmmm

Gizmo - Then do you have some input as to where the math is wrong for 6th gear? Used the drive ratio from the above referenced article and used standard formulas for calculating. There appears to be about a 20 mph difference between my math and your butt speedo. Suggestions?

MY BADDDD!!!! I just checked my data logs from HRPT12 and 109MPH is 2345RPM. Other data points collected:

12-1400rpm/55mph (my car wont go into 6th until 60MPH then I back down - trans tune)
    1500rpm/69mph
    1630rpm/75mph
    1689rpm/78mph
    1733rpm/80mph
    1780rpm/81mph
    1820rpm/83mph
    2200rpm 100mph
    2345RPM/109MPH

The graph is still off for my car. Maybe my rear gears are different.

Actually the tires on the power tour were shorter and wider.
