Woodward Ave. starting from Detroit and running to Pontiac. It kicks off the week before the 17th pretty much, but the main gig is that weekend.
Lou and I will probably stay at the same place in Southfield. But then we cruise up/down Woodward a couple times, set up camp and watch all the cruisers. Imagine all the car shows you been to on steroids. It's non-stop cars all day and well into the evening.
Upping. We're leaving Thursday night the 15th, and heading to Detroit. I have made my reservation at Marvins Garden Inn in Southfield off Telegraph and I696. Not sure if Lou has made his yet. We may have a GTO and G8 with us.
Are the CTS-V guys doing anything? I tried to scan both gen forums but didn't see anything other than last years thread. I know there was a group of them that were there last year as we pulled in and checked them out.
Am I missing any sections that would contain something like this? I've checked the CTS-V sections, general discussion, local sections, etc, and nothing. Last year there was a camp of "V" (all CTS), that were along Woodward. I would like to think they'd be going again and be discussing their plans somewhere here. I'd like to make a guest appearance.
Woodward cruising starts at 8 mile 9 (north city limits of Detroit) and goes north thru Pontiac, keeps going to Flint for the (Back To The Bricks). You can' imagine so may cars (or you might say, any kind of vehicle with wheels) and over a million people. It actually starts the first of the week. So many cars, it screws with your mind. I live between Det. and Flint. 47 CHE V yes it has a V
We ended up in the Bank of America lot just south of Big Beaver and it is just an endless parade of vehicles, some of which you'd never see on the roads normally. Just one big rolling non-stop car show.
We first stopped at the IHOP at 12 mile and Woodward, but after we ate, we were hustled out, but there it was nice too, almost right in the epicenter.
