    PostLow voltage popped up

Just want to know is it safe to say I need to change out my alternator since the LOW VOLTAGE popped up on my dash and now my car will not start. Or do I need to check the battery. The voltage drawed down the voltage to about 9.8 .

Same thing happened to me a few weeks back... Make sure you get the GM replacement. These cars don't do well with aftermarket/remanufactured alternators.

I don't think I would jump on an alternator so quickly. The STS is really hard on the battery and the later year non v at least has a higher rating. A good battery is cheaper than the alt.
