    07 and 08 Key Fobs

    I have a Fob from an 08 sts can I program it for my 07? obviously they look diffrent. I tried to program it tonight but it did not work the DIC said FOB 3? and I put it in the pocket but nothin happened.....

    Read your owners manual.

    I was told that 06-07 /08-09 are not programmable with each other but I never tryed it.

    I have an 08 fob on my 05 sts and fathers 07 sts. Fob works key does not need to custom fit an older style key.

    I have the new style fob it works perfectly only thing there is a key inside newer fobs and when I had that cut it does not work. think mine is a 09+ cts-v fob.

    Thank you - Fiero. To captian obvious above I did read my owners manual and had no luck. I will try this I see no reason the two diffrent year fobs should not work in an 07 or 08 I just could not get mine to display OFF/ AC ...... I will be sure to try this.

    I had an 08 fob on my 06 STS and it worked fine.

    I have a spare fob that I cannot get to program when following the manuals instructions... And ideas? Common mistakes?

    I tried again today to add a fob per the vender manual with no luck. I must have to clear all fobs and reprogram with option 3 in the above post. I will try the bat first tho.

    Put the battery in question into your known working fob and see if it works.
