My 08 has chrome stockers...I see them on ebay all the time, were they chromed aftermarket? I've been wondering since my centercaps aren't the black Caddy emblems.

just to confirm - the factory 6-lug V wheels were not chrome
any chrome version is either a plating/dipping of the stock wheels or a "knock-off" reproduction

there was a non-V 5-lug that kind of looked like the V wheel that came in chrome
Vogue also sells a similar wheel (the CV-7)

Other than the centercap, these appear to be factory chromed wheels. Either done by dealer or previous owner...either way, they were done right and look pretty good imo.

the center cap is aftermarket ... which usually means that the wheel is aftermarket (no way to tell for sure though from just a picture)

it's pretty blurry but you can tell that it's definitely not the Cadillac Crest

Agreed, the crest is wrong. I've been concidering picking up a set of oem caps but I don't think the black caps will look good on the chrome wheels. I still have the factory chrome caps off my 06 standard STS but have yet to copare them to see if they woulf fit... Out of curiosity, I may have to pull a wheel just to check for the GM stamp in the casting.

I debated on the chrome with light platinum, but after seeing that pic above, that looks like the route I will be going. Especially now that the car is a summer only car.

Re: more good news!!! holy crap..

So, I finally took the wheels off to take a look at the stamping on the inside... They are GM wheels that have been chromed. While they were off, I removed the aftermarket caps that had the lame emblems and put the caps that were off my 06 chrome 18's. Clipped right in and look much better. These are the factory chrome (kind of brushed w/chrome emblem).
