Keep you butt attuned to 'wheel hop' or you can tear out the differential.

Yes, listen to silver sts-v! I made a brutal error and tried to test 0-60 timing with winter tires on. See attached picture for results of what happens…
I put the Michelin Super Sports on the rears of the summer set and have not had that issue since. I was VERY nervous trying it again though!

v-whip, was the car under warranty at the time and if so did GM repair it at no cost?

Unfortunately the warranty is void because RPM did the rebuild on the trans plus the work that was done on the motor. I ended up finding a CV axle for $65, a brand new rear differential (not rebuild) for $375, and I had my mechanic do the work for $400. Done by a local dealer, parts and labor, they wanted over $4,000. Needless to say, I feel like I made out like a bandit!!!

V whip that is exactly why I don't want to try it it's cause I snap my axle 4 months ago and it cost me a lot so I don't want to do it again lol

So if some one said yes you can do a burn out you would try it? Or are you just looking for something to brag about?

I'm confused on this post as the only real way of finding out if you can do a burn out is to try it. If you are scared to do it then don't and move on.

You didn't end up selling the car??

This was along time ago but you can see their is no problem doing a burn out. Doing a burn out is not what will brake things it's when you try not to spin the tires on take off and get wheel hop that you brake. Listen at the end of this last video for the wheel hop to see what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfQ8h...e_gdata_player
