JMS PowerMax FuelMax fuel pump voltage booster

While doing research on Kenne Bell BAP I found another product that claims to be better than the Kenne Bell system. Has anyone used the JMS fuel pump voltage booster? The information I've seen so far looks good however it is mostly sponsered by JMS or their sister company....

The Kenne Bell is cheaper and I would feel better having that then someone I have never heard of. Not syaing there is anything wrong with it, just feel better with a known brand.

Re: JMS PowerMax FuelMax fuel pump voltage booster

I know this is my first post but i did not find an introduction thread. The JMS powermax unit is a good unit as I have used one on a past project i recently sold. Those guys have always tuned cars for me in the past and know the business very good. The company SCT started from that very shop. The owner of SCT owns JMS as well. Anyways im not here to give history on someone just opinion about the product. I ordered one for my cobra, and vette as they have a gm specific model too. Good unit and worth the extra ! Can someone direct me to where i can do a formal introduction so i do not get banned etc. Thanks in advanced.

You can change the pump type, time to prime the pump, and the duty cycle percentages and that's it.

Re: JMS PowerMax FuelMax fuel pump voltage booster

This unit is the best one i have seen so far.

You can test all the units available with simple electronic tools and see the exact same results.

This one puts out the highest amps of all on the market.
It has the Cleanest signals of all on the market.
It has a ramp in rate which helps alot on keeping the fpdm happy and reduces pressure spikes and FPDM cell learns and electronic feedback thru the data bus that messes with abs and other quirks usally seen with others in our cars.

The only thing that would make it better is if it had even more amp reserve for the 1000hp kind of stuff, but for regular 800hp down it works just fine.

I use these boosters in almost every car we do now with very good results.

As for the computer being in control of the fuel pumps, TECHNICALLY it is in control, because it tells the fuel pump computer what it needs to for fuel pressure.

Everything is target vs actual. So the ENGINE computer TELLS the fuel pump computer that it wants to be 60psi "as an example" then the fuel pump computer will modify the pulse width modulation to the pump itself to achieve that pressure.

It will learn / add/subtract the pwm of the pump to hit the goals, and only follows what the ENGINE computer is asking for.

According to the Cadi STS-V repair manual the fuel pump is controlled by the Electric Control Module(ECM)

Re: JMS PowerMax FuelMax fuel pump voltage booster

The computer only turns the pump on in the STS-V. There is no fuel pressure sensor and no fuel pump computer. There is a pressure regulator built into the fuel filter and that's it. Look at the screen cap of the calibration.

Re: JMS PowerMax FuelMax fuel pump voltage booster

He is correct, sorry i thought this was the 2009 up cts V section. Guess i should have looked. The CTS v has a fpdm. The STS v is just on/ off.
