STS-V Cat back Exhaust
Hi all I'm new to the forum... I just purchased a 2007 STS-V with 52K on the clock... I've been looking at intake and exhaust upgrades.. I appears Borla is still offering a cat back exhaust through Summit Racing... I've seen Corsa exhaust for axle back mufflers for almots a grand a pair Borla cat back is about 15 hundred... does anyone have experience with Borla? or is Corsa the hot ticket?

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
A lot of us have used Magnaflow. Go to youtube and do a search and there are several videos you can hear. You can click on my videos in my sig for my set up that has been used in serveral other STS-V's. If you do the Borla make sure you contact them for the silencers for the drone.

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
Thanks PGAB... I looked at your video.. Did you fab the exhaust yourself? I noticed the exhaust tip you noted has a 2.25 inlet and the muffler is 2.5 did you cut the tip to fit or is there a miss print some where????

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
The tips can be cut to accept 2.5" inlet. Any exhaust shop can do it. You can go to my cardomain page and see the photos of the install.
The drone is around 1500-2000rpms from what I hear. I don't have the Borla but know a few guys that do and had to add the extra parts to calm it down.
Nothing against Corsa (I sold the crap out of them at StreetSide, VERY good stuff!) I just didn't like the sound on the STS-V myself.

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
I know the drone had it on my 85 vette with a long tube headers flowmaster mufflers and a "test pipe" in place of the cat....
----------
Cherry Bomb PN# 577577 (stainless & ploished) exhaust tip looks almost the same as the MagnaFlow tip but is 2.5" inlet and 4" out it is about a .5" longer though....

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
I have Corsa. I have no drone and the exhaust is quieter than stock cruising down the freeway.

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
I'm using those magnaflow tips on mine too. I bumped them up to 2.5 and slipped the into the ends of the mufflers. Any exhaust shop can do that. They just have to be careful not to expand them too fast and rip them.

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
I have Gibson on mine (came with it when I bought it). The sound is amazing. It has a nice rumble at start up, idles with a slight burble, and sounds more like a Ferrari than a muscle car. It really sounds sweet on the downshifts! It can drone between 1800-2000 rpm but not terrible. When i first bought the car I thought it might be too much, but the wife loves it and thinks it makes the car sound like it looks and I get compliments everywhere I go.

Re: STS-V Cat back Exhaust
another BLK ICER here, I have Gibson as well. I luv it! People luv it as well! In summary "wow thats a Caddy?" above 70, no drone, 50-70 drone (6th gear). There is a youtube clip of Gibson, and I will post mine. My personal opinion is the Gibson permeates the STS-V true character.
