I had a new set of V12 Evos installed last night and I kept the original rears because they weren't quite down to the wear bars yet. They are about 1/32 away. They're Pirelli eufori@ run flats.
If anyone wants them for any reason I'll give them to ya. Otherwise I'm going to get rid of them at the tire store in a couple weeks.
I'm in the Chicago area. You'll have to pick them up. Free is Free.
Guy there in Chicago is offering a complete set of pirellis that he claims are brand-new take offs for our car for 500 bucks. I thought about driving up there. What is your take on the ride with the run flats. Worth the drive up?
I'm with Jamie on the sound, ride, traction, etc. I think most people agree the run flats are crap. However, If you MUST have the run flats, that sure sounds like a great deal and worth the drive. I paid under a grand with the extra replacement warranty at Discount Tire. I think that's the way to go, but I don't drive the car much and have AAA so not having a spare or run flats is not such a big deal for me. Having said that, I am driving the car 6 hours to northern MI tomorrow for a golf outing. I'll have my fingers crossed the whole way for sure!
goat-v- Sorry, didn't mean to pop your bubble. For $500 for near new that is a steal. But be warned of the sound and traction.
PwdrCtr- The Hankooks need 500-700 miles to wear off the coating they ship them with so they will get "stickier" by the time you get to your Golf outing.
Thanks, I hadn't heard that. I'll have to keep it in double digits... At least until the trip home!
