what do you guys think is best option for exhaust, and most cost effective

I want it to be Loud but not sound like trash, interior drone is not a huge concern of mine

Nearly immeadiately get:

-Custom magnaflow

-purchase gibson

-!muffler delete

Or wait save up and get Corsa

As a side note I LOVE the way this D3 cadillac sounds

says it has headers tho :(

I have 4 videos so far. Interior acceleration, hard and moderate, for both the stock and GMPP exhaust.

Drone really isn't an issue unless you have the car in a high gear at a low speed and you floor it. For example, you can shift to 6th as early as 42-43 mph. If you did this and then floored it, it would drone up until about 55+ mph. If you didn't floor it and just accelerated moderately, (you're probably not in a rush if you're shifting to 6th at 43mph anyway,) while in 6th at such a low speed, no drone. Low speed + high gear + full throttle = drone. Basically it's a non issue.

The exhaust sounds absolutely incredible at high RPMs in person.

Cruising on the highway? No drone issues. Anytime you would normally hear the exhaust when you're driving, imagine it being a bit deeper with the GMPP.

Moderate acceleration stock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhS8PPRQ_KA

Any wobbling noise you hear in the stock videos is a bump on the tread of one of the tires. New one should be in early next week.

I still owe you guys startup sound from the outside and acceleration from the outside.

^^ not sure if he was being sarcastic regarding how it sounded or if that was his honest view of it.
Keep in mind that mics on phones and inexpensive cameras will never capture the true feel / sound of exhaust.

The Magsun moss act would prevent them from voiding the warranty unless they can prove that the headers directly resulted in the failure.

I have the gmpp exhaust on my car. Love how it sounds. But my 06 had the magnaflow and it was also a good sound but much louder at every rpm.

As for headers they could void all most any thing do to having headers. I would drive it hard for a little while and then just mod it. And not worry abought the warranty at all.

That's not what I wanted to hear. I bought it for 2 reasons. Had less than 1/3 the miles of mine and I was able to get a warranty on it. I don't want to compromise that. I was kinda hoping it was one of those things where the tech wouldn't be able to tell its not stock headers.

----------

Oh and after you said that I looked you up. Didn't see anything on the new car but I saw the older one had the magnaflow. Figured you were being funny.

Guy how long is the warranty good for?

It might make sense to wait until you are back in NY and talk to a couple of caddy dealers and see if you could get something from them about if they would cover the engine even if there were aftermarket headers installed. Perhaps see if the CTS-V guys know of any "mod friendly" shops in the area.

I might consider driving how you want for about 50% of the warranty to basically work out the kinks in the car and then start modding and roll the dice a bit on if something breaks due to a modification.

I'm going to go with no. My friend works at a caddy dealer and if my car goes in he's the one that works on it and he had to convince the service righter that my car was stock. Only visual mods are CAI and exhaust. The exhaust has gmpp right on it. But they still did not want to cover the cats.

Not bad but after hearing that I still think corsa sounds better.

Also side note thought the V would not go into competitive mode with a bad tpms sensor. I see your light is on.

I'm going to bite the bullet and go with a pair of Dynomax VT series. 17156, to be exact. I'm just too curious to see if they work as advertised, and if it's a total bust I'm only out $200 plus labor.

I'm also going to have the resonator replaced with a Magnaflow X-pipe - forgot the p/n right off hand, I've got it written down.

It'll happen *probably* in the next month or so, now that I've paid off the driveshaft. :sigh:
