    Re: Best exhaust option

After looking around more I dont think the Corsa is worth it. Now the question is Gibson or magnaflow?

Does anyone know how loud the Gibson would be in comparison? There is only 1 video on youtube and its pretty low quality

    Re: Best exhaust option

I installed a Spectre Intake on a V from St. Louis that had the Gibson and I was surprised it sounded that good. As I have said in a previous thread, Gibson is a very good manufacturer but I had only heard their Truck exhausts. The one on the V sounded very nice and the interior drone was not that bad. It was a touch louder than my Magnaflow. What I recommend is the Magnaflow and DO NOT do the resonator at first. Just do the mufflers and tips. Listen to it and figure out if you want "Just a little bit" more, and if you do then do the X-Pipe (Wild) or the resonated X-Pipe (Mild). You can hear the difference in my videos.

FWIW - This is exactly what I did and have not, and do not plan to, install the resonated X pipe, or TruX. I love the way it sounds, wifey's OK with it, and at 80MPH with the cruise set, you cannot detect ANY noise over the stock mufflers. Around town is another story but it's perfect for me.

How was the tone of the gibson compared tio the magnaflow? I'm surprised to hear you say it's louder than the magnaflow setup. Do you have the stock resonator still? The gibson is appealing b/c I can install it myself which is a plus.

    Re: Best exhaust option

The Magnaflow has a lower tone than the Gibson. If you go with Gibson get the Stainless version and not the Aluminized version. I have changed the stock resonator to a Magnaflow resonated X-Pipe.

I'm looking for something like Borla, because I want mine as quiet as I can get with the performance of course. Is there any drone with the Borla exhaust?

    Re: Best exhaust option

If you want performance get a tune and CAI. Just doing mufflers will get you no noticeable ganes. Now gutting the cats will get 12-15hp but Thats with a tune/cai/x-pipe and magnaflow. So if you don't want it loud keep it stock.
