I have been offline and without power due to Irene.
I do not know what a Platform Containment Vehicle is. I have not seen that WD0 code before. I have asked but no reply yet.
I own a 2005 Chevy SSR with the WD1 Pilot Vehicle code. It was pulled off the 2004 production run and fitted with 2005 drive train and the 2006 chrome package.
It was the 2005 Allstate 400 Pace SSR. One of the two built to pace that specific Nascar race.
Did Cadillac race any of the STS-V's?
Usually WD1 Pilot Vehicle indicates modifications or changes were made to the vehicle and they can be blessed with a Michigan Salvage or Scrap title.
ZR6 Show Vehicle was probably just that. Shown at Cadillac events, car shows or whatever.
All of the black STS-V MY's 2006 to 2009 were paint code 41U and listed as Black Raven.
The 2009 MY also had a Carbon Flash listed with a paint code 58U. Cadillac calls this Black Ice.
The 2009 MY also had a Switchblade Silver listed with a paint code 17U. Cadillac calls this Radiant Silver.
I have a 2007 Thunder Gray Chromaflair paint code 30U but the paint code is listed as Eden Green.
So GM calls it Eden Green but Cadillac calls it Thunder Gray Chromaflair and charges you extra for Premium Paint.
What GM marketing calls the color and/or the car information sites call it, may be completely different than what PPG, or whoever supplies the color to GM calls it. That is what GM usually labels it internally.
I ran into this issue at my body shop with both my Camaro and GTO.
The Camaro was called "Cayenne Red Metallic" in the brochure and GM sales literature. But something completely different by PPG.
The GTO is called "Impulse Blue Metallic" in the brochure and GM sales literature. But was something like "brilliant blue metallic" by the manufacturer.
You would need to get the VIN's for all 22 built with the Black Ice exterior and run the build sheet for each to find out how many had each interior color.
Not an easy job. Getting the VIN's would be the hard part.
Thank you sir for the info! I wish i knew the interior combo breakdown -- I have one of 131 Stealth Gray -- EVER Produced.. Feels warm and fuzzy.. Now if I could only tell how many of those had Lt Gray interior!
I've been thinking off/on the past 6 months about swapping my G8 GXP for a 2008+ STS-V and I had no idea the V was almost as rare as the GXP. I have seen several on the road (including one or two 2008+) which surprises me given the rarity. I have not seen another G8 GXP on the road in 2.5 years and I've done quite a bit of driving. The V is very very tempting!
The car meets I go to I see a GXP or two at the meet, but I am the only STS-V. The only meets I see another STS-V is Cars and Coffee at Irvine when V are featured and that is Kirk on the forum.
