    Gas Mileage

Have 08 STS V with 4,000 miles. ECM replaced. MPG 11 mpg since new ECM. Prior was 16-20 mpg. Dealer says car programmed for replacement and gets poor mileage.

    Any help?

    Re: Gas Mileage

Did you leave your car with them? Maybe someone drove it hard while they had it, dropping the calculation?

Or are you saying that you actually have been getting less miles per gallon?

    Re: Gas Mileage

Took a 6 hour trip each way for work and averaged 27.5mpg on the highway. Zeroed everything out prior to the trip and drove through the Tennessee mountains on I-75. In town it is much less but highway was not bad at all.

It was tuned by a local tuner in Atlanta. Before all the upgrades and a retune I only averaged about 20.8mpg on the highway.

I get about 22mpg on Vegas runs @ 85mph. Mixed city/hwy suburban area about 16mpg. I have noticed that the boost gauge seems to be connected to the fuel gauge.

Sadly, it is an inverse relationship: More boost = Less MPG !!
Also related to the weight of your right foot: Heavy foot = Less MPG !!

Hey Coach and Torched10 I live around Atlanta too, actually Norcross. I am getting 14.8 around town. Maybe we can met sometime, like those California boys do, we have enough for a V-Showing .....I still have not seen a STS-V on the road, exc a Silver CTS-V the other day. Had a Challenger SRT8 challenge the other day, a little to wet for me, but he was surprised he had competition and didnt run off.......

Have they reflashed the ECM after they installed the "replacement"? If not I would ask to. Something is not right there.

Coach, Torched10, and PGA2B I live in Atlanta as well!!! I travel alot for work, but I would fully support a V series meeting! Or just meeting up in general.

That would be great if I lived in GA. I'm in Missery (MO).

    Re: Gas Mileage

I had Vengeance Racing tune my car after all the mods. They are not sponsored here so I can't give any more details. I live near Dunwoody area and I would be up for a meet sometime.

How many people have modded their cars? If you guys have a few mods or plan to get the Spectre intake we can do a dyno day at Dynolab in Marietta one Thursday evening. On Thursday's they do a 3 dyno pull for I think $50 or $75 without O2.
