$42 on ebay. It did require some restoration work however.

I didn't remove the entire ashtray, just the drawer face. With the drawer open, you can release two claw tabs on the bottom by pulling down on them, then the piece will swing up and you can lift it upwards off the top tabs. Tough to explain, but it's pretty easy to do.

I have received a flood of PM's about this...PM me about it and i'll reply with information. I'm working on a pricing system because this seems to be a popular idea.

Well phase II did not work out. As a result, I have 2008+ STS steering wheel controls that I applied the Di-NOC film to for sale.

One would expect that, knowing GM, and knowing that the STS and CTS both share the same platform, that there would be only maybe one or two steering columns between them. Especially knowing that the steering wheel mounts are physically interchageable. But NOOO, there are no less than FIVE different columns for the STS ALONE!!! Thus, the 08+ STS steering wheel WILL NOT work with anything other than an 08+ STS. They also changed the steering wheel control circuit (from a resistive loop to a discrete binary circuit) in 2008, so the controls themselves are actually not compatible...even if I rewired the harness. I can't even swap the clocksprings to make it work, as the lower column harnesses are different.

Next time someone complains about GM "parts sharing", i'm going to drive to wherever they are and hit them over the head with this now useless 2008 STS steering wheel that I have.

I am, however, sending out my 2006 wheel to get a suede/leather wrap.

They quote me $329 plus shipping for suede and leather wrap. I'm not set on exactly what i'm doing yet, but i'm thinking this (except with grey stitching):

The carbon fiber film is 3M's "Di-NOC" laminate. It comes in literally 100 different colors/patterns. I purchased mine off of ebay. It really is some pretty fantastic stuff.
