Re: Service Tire Monitor System
My c5 does this all the time then you drive and get to like 30mph all is good. It's just not talking to the Computer right a way no big deal yet. Battery is starting to go low is what I was told is happing. Mine has Been like that in my c5 for years now. the v still works like new for now. Ryan
Mine did this not to long ago as well. The rear passenger would just go to dashes no reading, randomly. Then it was once a week, then every day, then it stayed off. This is an indicator its dying a slow painless death. I needed new tires so to save time and headaches when the rest die I replaced all 4 just to save my own sanity.
Is "always" a fair answer to the question? The last V had the LF sensor replaced 3 times and still had issues. The new one goes out as soon as it heats up to 34 lbs. of pressure. The sensor begins reading again as the pressure comes down. Ironically both car issues have been the LF. Good news is that it is not limited to Cadi's - My wife's last two imports have had the same issues.
Also possible it is interference from an external source. My RR goes out every day as I pass by the BP Amoco facility, then returns once I am about 2 miles away. Must be using the same frequency as my sensor. Kind of weird, but dealer had no other explanation, as it works perfectly fine everywhere and anytime else.
I own a 2011 CTS that keeps losing the Front Right tire daily. I have had new sensors put in, New module installed, new software all to avail. The tire still fails every day and sometimes another tire or 2 will drop off. The dealer is at a loss and GM doesn't seem to be giving them any answers. Anyone else know what I could do. Car is 4 months old and I love except for this irritating problem.
