Finally got my Garage Door Opener to work

I have the old style Genie with the Dip Switches. The 2007 V I have came with
the Universal Home Remote System and not HomeLink. I found better instructions on thier site. Because you do have to hit the 3 buttons at the exact same time or you have to start over, which I had to do several times. But after a few attempts, walla. I even got it to work only one time, but found I didnt release once the door starts to open, I mean immediatley, not a second longer. I finally pushed all the right buttons and did the second garage door as well.

I had a heck of a time getting mine to work. I had to buy the upgrade to code hopping and get it programmed that way.

I have yet to get my garage door programmed into my 08. From what my manual for the door opener says, it doesn't use a rolling code and it doesn't use the DIP switches. I'd love to get mine programmed.

There are universal upgrades that chage it to code hopping (Rolling) technology. My issue was that the mini remote that was included with the upgrade would not work so I got a one button remote and that worked like a champ!

Yea, I've thought about doing something like that. My issue is that I don't want to break the function on my mom's 2 cars.

Ok SLK230MB if you have the three round led lights by the switches. Get the remote handy and the model of your garage door opener. Then call 1-866-572-2728 Hope that helps !!
