    Finally got a V!

I bought Nola V's car (I think we all probably saw his thread about crashing it), a black 07 w/ 25k miles. A special thanks to him for being a real stand up guy, a pleasure to deal with. It was delivered Saturday and I started on it right after the snow melted off.

Saturday afternoon I removed the bent fender, headlight, and coolers, and broken fuse block housing. The front section of the right frame rail is bent into the supercharger heat exchanger and it made getting the coolers out a real challenge.

Sunday I spent a little time looping cooler lines so I can drive the car onto a trailer for the frame work. I also charged the battery and changed the setting for autolock so it doesn't lock me out anymore. I had a non-HID headlight left over from a previous parts car and the right headlight on the V, while smashed, had a good ballast, HID bulb, and wiring harness. About 20 minutes with a screwdriver and a 7mm nut driver was all it took to swap the HID parts into the non-HID housing. Ta da...Head light fixed.

Today I ordered a hood and got part numbers for lots of other parts. I'll have someone from my work call the dealer order in tomorrow (they get a better discount than I do). Hopefully, I'll be ordering new coolers as well.

    Here are some pics:

    Re: Finally got a V!

Looking to add one to my STS-4, a V is in the future once I get rid of my current toy but not yet, and I know how hard these hoods are to come by so I didnt want to take a good one away that may be needed by a real V one day, san Florian would have my head.

    Re: Finally got a V!

I did a little more work on the V today. I removed the left fender and drilled the spot welds holding the rest of the core support on. I also washed the car but I can't get a good picture until tomorrow morning when my wife's car is out of the way.

I also ordered an airbag, AC condenser, oil/tranny cooler, radiator, and fans today. That stuff along with my hood should be delivered tomorrow. My dealer order will take longer, probably 3-5 business days.

I need a power steering cooler and the heat exchanger for the supercharger if anyone has either of those.

Hood looks repairable to me, anythings good with enough fiberglass lol. BTW I have an extra woodgrain bezel from a V if you need it. I bought a whole V console and that part doesnt match my interior wood.

I don't need that piece but PM wait4me. He bought a theft recovery V that was missing that wood piece. I wouldn't be surprised if he needs it.

The skin of the hood is separated from the structure and both are cracked in places. If you want it I'll sell it as-is, without the insulation piece, I need that for my new hood.

You can use this PermaCool Part 2318 instead of the factory intercooler radiator.

Or you can also use a Flex-A-Lite 45321. It is almost twice the size of the factory to hold more fluid to keep the KR monster away. Also I sell them and will be installing one on my car in the spring.... Use your Cadillacowners discount and get 10% off making it $106.16 shipped...... Cheaper than factory and MUCH better. It is a 6 row cooler.

Here is a picture of it. It is the same size as the Perma-Cool.........

PGA - what would be the advantage of using that vs the stock one?

More fluid in the system to help with heat.

I am going to change the factory to that and hang an additional one under the front bumper similar to the ones for the GT500 and Cobras.
