    Seats farting?

OK so I have my '06 STS-V for about 2 mo. driving along either with the AC or simply circulating air.... and I hear a farting noise. NO ONE else in the car, wasnt me ... but I let it go. Then I noticed a few more times I hear the same noise, fughetaboutit I say ... UNTIL LAST NIGHT... Have a buddy & his wife in the back seat mine in Pas. and there it is again now a little more embarrassing funny conversation though but still embarrassing.
ANYONE KNOW WHATS GOING ON ...

There is a TSB on it. Something about the AC/Heater Unit. There is a door that is making the sound. I read about it but forgot what it is. Your dealer should know and be able to fix it.

you know what I just learned about TBS... TBS = service charges = Out of Service Warranty = $$ out of pocket. This doesnt sound good and the farting noise is beginning to sound like music to my ears

I forgot that man... No Warranty SUCKS!! I am sorry. You might try to see if it is something you can fix on your own or with the help of some friends.

A couple of other threads on this, it's the recirculation door actuator cam. There is a service kit with updated parts available.
I don't think it is too expensive and a patient DIYer could do it inside a Saturday with only a few beers.

I posted on this a while ago under "embarassing question". You guys were absolutely right, it was the recirculation actuator - happens in auto mode. dealer was clueless and was about to replace a lumbar unit. I actually printed the answer from this site and brought it to the dealer. I still had warranty so I don't know the cost but don't think it was any big deal.

I have done several of these myself, hard to believe there are dealers out there that have not seen this issue.

I would like to know too. I've got a 2006 STS-V with a farting seat and no warranty.

    Re: Seats farting?

I might be able to copy the text of the bulletin here, post a few tips and it can be done by a DIYer but it will take some patience.
I don't think the kit is very expensive, if this gets a bump Tuesday I can check on the pricing.
