    Over Aligned?

Has anyone seen a specific TSB concerning the inner tire shoulder wear? i was wondering if it gave specific settings to eliminate. i had mine done at caddy dealership, and we may have went too far...now the outsides are wearing...

i know some say it's a firm suspension issue, but others have said it was due to neg camber to help v settle into turns. i think in my case we went to far with camber.

This should be a good median; I don't drive my car very aggressively in turns -- also what tire pressure are you running up front?

Thats from my STS-V -- which is the only baseline the alignment computer has; because there isn't a seperate calibration for our cars; The head tech at my dealer 'tweaks' the settings from factory and this is where he put mine -- No inner/outer wear as of yet on my new set.

Thanks for posting the alignement data--just so i understand, the numbers in the pic are the ACTUAL numbers your car is set at,not the Cadillac suggested numbers, right

Correct; those were the ACTUAL settings after the alignment.

The fronts were already worn on the inside from the stock alignment -- but overrall evened out well besides the cupping that was already on the inside. (besides the rears wore in the center) --

Fronts (especially those with the Pirellis) 33-35lbs is ideal
Rears (again - especially those with Pirellis) 28-30lbs is ideal

That will keep the fronts wearing evenly, and not just on the edge, and the rears will wear evenly, and not just in the center.

    Re: Over Aligned?

I just had my algnment done at my friends Frestone store. They had just recieved a huge software update recently for there alignment machine. It now has anlignment specsfor the STS-V. It definetley varies from the standard STS specs. I will see if I can get a print out or something with what they had in there for it. I am very happy with it so far. With hankooks I just put all the way around.

If you go more than -.5 camber (as in more toward neutral 0.0) I'm sure you will get that -- although many say CASTER should not affect wear, I wouldn't advise more than .5 degree difference on the passenger side on any vehicle to compensate for road crown.

I'm not an alignment guru, but my WS6 used to eat up some tires on the front - the factory specs were crap; and after trial and error they wear very evenly now.

    Re: Over Aligned?

i may have to check on mine again and see where i'm at.

i mostly drive in left lane of freeway, so i'm not as big a fan of setting up for crown...
