Whats a normal Trans temp?

Seems like since i put Amsoil in the tranny that the temp is up and down more than i recall. Tonight i was stop and go around town and the temp was rising in the 170s, took 5 miles before it was down to 162. thats in 50 degree weather.

Hey mine was running in the 230s for several days this summer, and the tech at the dealership said that was "normal"
