Brake Job

Remove this ad
I'm ordering new brakes and rotors for my STS-V, does anyone have any info or photos on the job. I've never done a brake job on a car with brembos, and I'm not sure how the pads rotors and calipers come off. What tools are needed, and what I need to do to make sure they won't make noise.

I went aftermarket... worked fine. once it's time for new rotors, I will be swapping to Hawk Pads.

Hawk pads - no more squeal or brake dust.

Re: Brake Job

I will switch when needed. GM should really change the pads on the stock cars. The brake dust is ridiculus. The wheels get dirtier than the black car.

Re: Brake Job

To use Hawk pads, do you have to change the brakes or rotors also? Or will they work with our stock setup?

Re: Brake Job

The Brembos are by far the easiest brakes I have ever owned for service. You can bleed them with the wheels on and change pads in just a few minutes.
