Were run flats standard on the STS-V?

Remove this ad
I bought my car from a dealer that apparently put new Goodyear tires on the car but they are NOT run flats & I have no spare in my trunk?

I purchased a large can of fix a flat but should I just buy a spare 18" rim to use as a spare. Will a standard donut fit over the brake caliper?

Thanks
Chris

Re: Were run flats standard on the STS-V?

Yeah, it came with Pirelli Euphor@'s (sp?) which are run flats, so no spare came as standard equipment. I've never heard of anyone using a donut, but you never know. I keep an extra set of wheels on tap and don't drive too far from home!

Re: Were run flats standard on the STS-V?

As far as we know the donuts won't fit. If you find one that does it would be nice info to put out for everyone.
Although you'll need a jack kit as well as some form of spare. I keep a portable compressor / battery jump unit in the trunk. It's helped a couple of times when I've got something in the tire and it's lost some air.

Yes, run-flats are OEM. I keep a compressor in the trunk even with runflats.

Hi Chris, the wheel of an CTS V 04-07 will fit your STS V.
I`ve had a 07 STS V8 and it came standard with the 04-07 CTS V wheels and the same Brembo brakes as your or my STS V got right now.

Here`s a picture of my 07 STS wheel

Re: Were run flats standard on the STS-V?

I just purchased this jack kit.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...0214&viewitem=

Since I need a way to remove the lug nuts from the tires.

Now I just have to find a rim&tire.

Re: Were run flats standard on the STS-V?

I have decided to go with a donut spare tire in my STS-V

Anyone know what model donut/spare with fit a V?

Do they make a 18" donut/spare for cars?

Thanks
Chris

I know folks did try the SRX wheels on the Vs and they wouldn't clear the brakes, so I'm betting the doughnut is the same.

Hi Ciws,

My 07 STS had the Brembos with the CTS V wheels.(was standard on export V8 STS)

They will fit!!!!!!

I could be wrong, but didn't the 04-07 CTS-V / CTS have only 5 lugs?

Hi Bee iLL
CIWS is right, the european STS V8 model came with Brembos and the V wheels, so I know they`ll fit the STS V.
