That they've actually replaced due to failure,

Lower crankcase seal on the engine.

3 Nav/Radio units - all for different issues.

TSB for a squeaky drivers seat.

about 17K on the car now.

    Re: Replaced Parts Thread

One was the black screen. Go to start the car and the Nav screen was blank, radio did not work or have access to any screen based control(s). This would happen randomly. Car could sit off for 10 min and everything would work again when restarted. We tried pulling the battery and think it was fixed but it would return at some point later. Trying to link certain Bluetooth phones with the car would aggravate the problem and make it occur the next time the car was started.

    Two was bluetooth quit working.

Three was CD changer crapped out and would not change or eject disks.

I still have two "Ghosts" in the car that happen at random.

When the door is opened and everything is supposed to go to presets, the driver's side mirror will go all the way to the far left despite the setting and has to be moved back. Problem is random and does not repeat.

The light sensor on the dash appears not to work as it can be bright daylight shining in the front window and the headlights will come on in Auto and Nav screen dims when the car is started. This one usually hangs around for a day or two then starts working normal again, but it happens maybe once a month ? The Service advisor has seen this "ghost"

The battery has been pulled several times for other various reasons and these problems are still there. Some kind of a logic issue, which are a biotch to track down if they're not repeatable.

Have you re-calibrated it? Its in the options or set-up area. I remember seeing a "calibrate" somewhere.

But to answer your question, no. mine is spot on.

Although Bluetooth did stop working last week. I haven't tried to remove device and re-add them to see if it clears it up.

I did do this a couple of weeks ago with this unit. But re syncing the phone solved it.

Wow. Knock on wood, but after one year and 7000 miles the only issue has been the differential seal recall (although my seal was not leaking). Starts every day, no weird electronic quirks, the engine uses nary a drop of oil, and the run-flats are even looking like they'll go to 25k no problem.

Of course, such ironclad reliability means I purchased the extended warranty.

    Re: Replaced Parts Thread

I just turned 42,000 miles and here is my report. I purchased in April 2006 so I have one of the first "V" versions. As a result, almost all of my issues have been "V" related...
    • Tower Brace replaced at time of purchase for deep scratches
    • Grill replaced at time of purchase for bent section under hood
    • Washer nozzles replaced for large gaps at hood
    • V emblem on passenger side dash replaced because one of the color inserts fell out
    • Grille replaced again because corner of wreath broke off
    • Rear diff seal replaced under recall (no leak)
    • Bolt retorqued on engine to solve oil leak
    • Key fob replaced because case broke at ring attachment

I have also had alignment issues. The right front always wears faster. The service advisor states that the alignment should be done on this car every 12000 miles because there are no shims... only bolts, and any big bump can knock it out. I really find it strange that they want you to do alignments more often than oil changes

I am on te 3rd set of tires and the second set of brake pads. This is more due to the two V-Day appearances though and several appearances at the drag strip.

I have only seen the nav unit reboot once while I was driving. I don't know what I did or have any idea what caused it. No other issues there and I have since added the lockpick so that my passenger can function while moving.

So there is a working lockpic for our cars ?

Side notes to add. I did have the diff recall done on the car as well.

Plus I don't think we want to count parts replaced due to dealership screwups as those are not reflective of the car itself. But the dealership is about to replace my lower door panels/sills for a second time as they once again damaged them on their lift when replacing a tire.

    Re: Replaced Parts Thread

Well, since I have the oldest V here (12/23/05), I thought I would throw my 2 cents in:
door unlock receiver replaced; door switch replaced (wouldn't unlock)
rear seal replaced at 2200 miles and again after recall notice
transmission switch on column replaced - couldn't find PARK and would not turn off
replace front rotors and all pads (upgraded)
tires - summer (GY GS-D3) and winter (Advan S4) at 17k

    Otherwise a very reliable automobile!

    Re: Replaced Parts Thread

Hmm... The diff seal was replaced (previous owner), Oil pan gasket, and update the ECM/TCM.

The Nav probably still needs the firmware updated (have to check the version). Also the shift knob is a little loose and rattles as well as the little "button" on the seat belt came off.
