2006 sts v trans problem
bought the car new. after 3000 miles the transmission developed an extremely hard downshift when accelerating smoothly. it occurs when you are driving 40 to 50 mph and attempt to accelerate slowly as if you were going to accelerate moderatly entering a highway. when you push down the accelerator the transmission downshifts one gear fine, but if you continue to accelerate slowly and evenly then BAMMMMM and a hesitation when it drops down into the next gear. it is violent enough, and i mean violent, that passengers are startled, some gasp, and your head is jerked forward. if you are driving 40 to 50 mph and floor it the transmission downshifts fine. i have had it to the dealer 3 times with no luck. the mechanics feel it, and the problem can be replcated everytime. the first time cadillac changed a part in the valve body stating there were no codes but there was a tsb for a hole that was drilled too small in the valve body. they changed the part but this did not fix it so i had to bring it back. they reflashed the trans and gave the car back to me. still did not fix it. the third time i left the car and told the dealer to keep the car until it was fixed. all in all they had the car for weeks. cadillac now says it is normal and will not give the dealer parts to fix it or offer any help. my response was lets get in an new one and i gaurantee it will not do this. they agreed but said their hands were tied since cadillac would not help. is there any insight on this as to what is causing the problem or has anyone else had these issues with the transmission and cadillac?

I know I sound like a broken record BUT .... Reset the Pcm. Disconnect the pos battery cable for 30 min
