Driving a CTSV compared to STSV.. Any who had both?

Considering trading my CTSV to a STSV. Getting sick of shifting. Wouldnt mind a bit more room for my 1yr old.

Anyone of you ever own both? How does the performance and driving experience differ?

Post this over in the STS-V forum. I know there are a handful of guys that have had both. The only one that I can think of off the top of my head is CIWS.

She's a little fatter is the ass, but other than that still a great driving machine.

They are two different cars. My best advice would be to go look and drive one and see how it feels to You. I love mine, so no complaints in going with the STS-V. You can still manually shift the car if you wish,or if sitting in traffic leave it in auto.

A Mod/Admin can move this thread in the STSV forum if you ask.

They're both great cars but very different. I view the STS-V as a fast luxury sports sedan while the CTS-V is more hot rod like. The CTS-V is more fun to drive.

Ive had both, the CTSv is a bit more 'primal' with the pushrod engine...the STSv sneaks up on you. Its fast as hell without the fanfare. You tell it to go and wham, you go. A tune also makes your shifts quicker and your TM less effective.

I have also owned a CTS-V before i traded it in for my current STS-V... It's like going from a M3 to a M5.. IMO.. The only thing i noticed that took some time to get use to was that the CTS-V seat use to hug me more.. The larger STS-V seat has a looser feel to it while taking hard tight corners.. Besides that, the STS-V is 1,000x better.

One thing i know about the ctsv is how much noise the thing makes- shifting clunks, rear end whine ect. The ctsv is also a fairly small car.

How does the STSV compare in:
    1. quality. does it hold together well, less noise and whine ect? i know auto means no shift clunks.

    2. sounds system. meet or beat the ctsv?

    3. performance. again, i know its 2 different motors, but does the stsv give you that same... HOLY S*&t this car is fast feeling?

    4. cornering, brakes ect.. Similar track feel or more luxary car?

i would test drive one, but none for sale atm.

    1. No Clunks, No Bangs... The only noise it makes is music from the BOSE or Supercharger if you have one of the D3 performance packages.

    2. A better BOSE Sound System in every way, even has a set of A/V inputs, and a larger "tiltable" up/down angle screen.

    3. It's Supercharged... Yes, that "HOLY S*&t this car is fast feeling" is there, and then some.

    4. The Handling (not by much), I have to give this one to the CTS-V just to be fair.

    I've owned both.

    1. Quality hands down goes to the STS-V over the first gen CTS-V. Now the CTS-V2 might be different, but as of now the STS wins hands down.

    2. Sound package is all STS-V. It even has small speakers in the seatbacks.

    3. It gives you that feeling even more becuase when you drop the hammer, the automatic really picks the car up. When you mash it, the entire car lurches up in the front.

    4. Handling still goes to the CTS-V, but the STS-V is no slouch.

Get the Hawk pads and you'll have no worries about breaking. Stock pads are good but give a lot of dust. HAwks bite better and give less dust.
