Cadillac STS-V Series ForumForum specifically for Cadillac STS-V series discussions. With 469 horsepower, this is the most powerful production Cadillac ever made.
I was very happy when I first got my Vector CPU tuning, but after a dyno I found that the top speed limiter had not been corrected, everything besides the top speed had been corrected and I picked up quite an amount of hp. When I called Vector to tell them that they had not corrected the top speed the promply told me they would send me and RMA to get my CPU back to be corrected. Now after many months that I have called them about it, a number of times they tell me they will send me the RMA but still have not. I would like to make all members aware of this before they do business with Vector. I paid almost 500 bucks for this program that listed specifically the top speed would be corrected....

that kind of stuff would drive me nuts!!!! ....you pay good money and once they sell you there product, no more help!! one thing i didnt have with d3!!.......
I was going to speak to D3 about some of there cold air stuff and Corsa exhaust. I have a Borla system on it now that looks like ass due to the size of tips Borla used.
i got my tune done thru vectr motorsports and my speed limiter went from 155 to 159, and i also address the issue to kirk and he pretty much told me the same thing, this wasnt the first time either , because when i first got the tune i did 165, and when i tried it again racing a buddy on i96 it stopped at 155mph. other wise that the tune did get 2 tenths of a second faster with wheel spin, firmer shifts, and better burn outs. oh i bought a dash hawk from him too which give me 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times. kirk did say that they are trying to get the intercooler to kick on at a cooler temperature, with the right program.
Not sure what parameters are metered, but even after removing speed limiter on my modified supercharged '99 Buick Regal GS it would cut out at 142 MPH GPS verified. There is some measuring the duration of near full boost. I'd watch the boost level to see if it is the same during your high speed runs.

Wow for such a big company they seem to be still working out the basic tune. This stuff in HPTuners is VERRY SIMPLE to modify. EVEN FOR AN AMATEUR.....
To remove the speed limiter you go to that page and backspace out the 149 and type 200.. (That took more time to type than to do the actual change)
For the fan cut off/on it's the same thing. remove the stock vaule and type in your own temp..
Oh and the Air compressor cut out is the same..]

Hrmmm interesting as you only have four posts here and this is the first ANYONE here at the office has heard of you. Especially odd since we dont have RMA's you just send it back with a note and we update it which anyone here would have told you to do. So that said whats your name and order #? If there is an issue I'll personally take care of it but being I'm on here and have never had so much as a PM from you this is all pretty interesting.

We develop our own software which is considerably more powerful than anything commerical on the market. It's possible I moved the values for the speed limiter if this is the case i'll get it fixed ASAFP. It's not as "simple" as you'd like to make it out to be unfortunately We dont have alot of customers that are crazy enough to go over 160 if there was an issue its likely we wouldnt hear about it for awhile but again its rather odd this is the first we are hearing about the issue from the OP....

Yes it is, from an enduser standpoint. Several of us have already made these changes with great results following the exact steps I listed. Maybe from a raw coding view its more difficult but that is why companies like Vector / HPTuner / ELF Live charge a good bit of money to provide us the end user ease of modifying the ECM.
I am glad to see you got involved and are working to get a resolution though.
Yup, we'll do whatever it takes to make and keep our customers happy. Those of you with the speed limiter issue please email me directly via chris (@) Vectormotorsports.com I'd like to gather some data and take care of this immediately.
