I too was wondering the same thing between the '06 and '07's with regards to the bugs. I was going to pull the trigger on a Cert. Cts-V2 but decided to wait for the V2 Coupe to come out. I just had my E63 totalled which is a b**** so I decided to get into a STS-V to kick around in. The CTS-V1 was awesome but no comparison to the new version!!!
Anyway, anyone looking for a STS-V I've already done some searching and there are 2 '07's that are in mint condition. 1 is at Lindsay Cadillac (VA) 703-647-8605 silver/blk certified that can be bought for $36,500 firm. It has 30k miles on the clock. The 2nd one is at Ogden Auto Group (IL) 630-327-3200 it has 23k miles and can be bought for $36,500 as well but not Certified. Both are 1 owner cars.
I decided to go with an '06 silver/blk & gray 22k miles 1 owner Certified for $31k. I figured what the hell since I'll only be in the car tops for 2 yrs. I'll be flying into NC and then taking a road trip for a bit. Good luck with your search!!!

Yep. I've bought my last 10 cars site unseen except for many photos the dealer shoots me. I have someone to check it out before I get there, then when I get there I always leave it up to my personal inspection. If I find paint work or if it drives $hitty then all bets are off and I go on my marry way..........but I've never had a problem before since I thoroughly do my homework first.
Thanks,
Paul |

Thanks,
Paul | I can add some input here; I bought my '06 STS-V in June '08 for 39k with 12k (now has 18k) on the clock sight unseen for the most part. It was at a CarMax in Columbia SC (originally delivered to a Coral Cadillac in FL, then a dealer transfer to Charleston, SC in June '07 when it was titled to the original owner). I found it online, contacted the Greenville, SC store and they transferred it there for free before I came back from San Francisco on a business trip. Looked like it rolled off the showroom floor and Stealth Gray which was the color I wanted. I spent about 2 months looking after test driving a silver one in Hendersonville, SC that was not HALF the car the one I ended up buying was (rear end noise, didn't want silver, rocker panels crushed, etc, etc).. Patience and persistance.. Pays off. |

I don't know anyone near them to check them out.
I am not interested in flying or driving out to see them.
I would just ship it to myself.
Some of them are CPO.
Would you ever consider going blind and using the CPO "sticker" as good enough? |

I bought my last DTS over the internet. I flew up to see it and drove it home. I wouldn't sign for anything until I saw ans drove it first. Its worth the $300 (round trip) airfare on a $36,500 car to check it out. Then you can decide to ship it or drive it, or leave it and fly home. |

Yea like I said, unless it totally checks out..........they don't get my check period!! If I find a car and do a few preliminary checks on the car and seen photos, then I will put a small deposit on it so they can't sell it. Then I have someone physically check it out and once I get the ok, I make plans on flying in to finish the deal. Then I always go on a road trip for fun and then head for home. I love doing it that way!!! Nothing finer than driving your nice ride on an open road...................
also to add, just because a car is CPO'd doesn't mean it's ok. Some people beat on a car harder because it has the warranty.

Well, I flew in on Monday to pick my new ride up then headed south. The car checked out beautifully and drove great for an STS-V!!! I've already had all the windows tinted including the windshield. It even looks more awesome. Have my weathertech stuff ordered so it'll be in NY when I get back. Silver/grey Certified with only 22k miles and got it for $31k. I'm happy with this deal. Now I'm just going to enjoy the car on my roadtrip.............
