That info is a little old and and not quite accrate. It was posted in August 2006 and it said the 2009 CTS-V would be 420hp. We know that is wrong...so I don't have much faith in the rest of that post....

Given the recent information we just got. Dont expect to see anything happen with the STSV until it becomes merged with the DTS. The STSV as you know it will be replaced by the CTSV. At this time there are still no indications that the replacement STS/DTS will have a V-Series variant. You guys have a very unique and rare vehicle. Just FYI.

It would be wise and more cost effective for GM to drop in the same powertrain of the CTS-V into the STS-V and XLR-V. More power for less money and they could sell the STS-V and XLR-V for far less money and move more product until they merge the STS with the next gen DTS/STS vehicle replacement. Who knows, the newfound demand may change GM's mind so they don't get rid of our awesome cars.

It seems like they are producing close to zero of the 2008 STS-V and XLR-V. I haven't seen any at any dealerships or on the road.

My local dealership has moved a few 08 STS-Vs, had one there when I bought this one. There were also a couple of XLR-Vs there with the chrome wheels, but not sure if they were 07 or 08.

My dealership has sold 2 of the '08 STS-V in the last 3 months. Manager called me to see if I wanted to test drive one when it arrived, but he sold it before I had a chance to get over there. I just wanted to see the HUD in action, but no big deal. I like my V without the junk fender louvers better.

Re: 2009 CTS V? What will the STS V?

    Hello Aero1,
Some of us just got back from a meeting in Detroit. I think it is safe to say they (Cadillac) have already started looking beyond the current model STSV unfortunately. With 2 model years left in the books, including this year, it would be safe to say they wont even think about any additional revisions or increases in power.

    Thanks,

The CTS-V auto is targeted at STS-V owners.

Yeah seeing how the STS / STS-V will be going away, the new CTS and CTS-V will be taking up some of that market.

I know they were originally projecting 2000 units per year, but I'd be interested to know actual production numbers.

There is a definite need for a 4 door performance luxury sedan by an American owned manufacturer. A whole bunch more people would be forced to go to the foreign dealers..
The new, larger CTS-V replaces the STS-V as a perfectly fine 4 door performance luxury sedan.

There will be no Cadillac Sixteen. The STS and DTS will be replaced by a new model slightly favoring the STS to the DTS. In time, there will be a newer model larger than the STS/DTS replacement for people who favor the characteristics of the DTS.
