    Ordered the HPTuner

I ordered my HPTuner Pro kit yesterday and it should be here in about 2 to 3 weeks. The pro version gives you real time data logging without having the lap top connected to compare A/F ratios from the real time result to the set ratio. I am going to do the mods in stages so everyone can see what part gives the most gains.

1st up is just the HPTuner and a custom dyno tune.
2nd is putting on a K&N style filter. (if I can find one)
3rd will add an intake (if no gains are to be had with the filter swap alone).
4th will swap out exhaust when one comes available.

Oh yeah! it hit the teens here in Atlanta and the car loves the cold air. I actually saw the boost guage hit and stay on 15 PSI through 4th gear. It was a really noticable extra kick in the ass between the 12 on normal hot days and the 15 on the really cold days.

If you did find one, you probably would not get a gain...it is a pretty unique filter. OEM pricing lists it at nearly $100.00(90. and some change), and it does not look like any filter I ever saw come out of K&N. I'd doubt if they made especially for it.

Ummm, what tires are you on that aren't breaking loose with that kind of driving?? I am barely on the gas because these GSD3s don't hold too well in the cold.

It sure would be nice if you guys could post some of your tune do's and don'ts for this car. I fairly close to having a tune done and it will probably be done via HP Tuners on a dyno.

They are breaking loose. I did this from a 6th to a 4th gear drop cruising around 70mph. If I would have broke them loose at 70 I would have been really impressed and probably in the center wall of GA400. :-)

You're my man. I can't wait to see your results.... So, let me ask a question. You set the tune and I presume it changes the PCM. If you go to the dealer do you have to reset it before you go? And if you don't reset it before you take it in, and they reflash for any reason, you just plug back in and reset the tune?

Where are you going to get your tune done? I'm just a couple of hours up the road so I would love to see and hear the final results.

    1) I save my stock tune off to the lap-top
    2) They custom dyno tune and flash the PCM.
    3) They save my custom tune to the lap-top as well.

If I have a service problem I download the stock program back to the PCM.
When I get the car back I re-download the custom tune.

I've got an appointment for Monday morning at the performance shop to dyno tune the car using HPTuners software. Any already tuned have any hints or suggestions ?

Excellent! I can't wait to see your results. If there is a way to share the info/tune, I'll be happy to contribute!

    Re: Ordered the HPTuner

I found a great little performance shop near me as well. Stopped in last Friday to check out their dynos (yes, they have 2!). The top tuner talked with me for about 1/2 hour. He said their tuning software should work, but there were some discrepancies between the 06 and the 07 models, so we need to double check my 06 to be sure it will accept the tune. So like everyone else, what do I need to definitely change on the tune, and what types of things are possible?

    Thanks,
    Bob
