I had the 3M clear bra put on my 2006 DTS the early part of last summer. I love it.

In addition to the entire front fascia, first 18 inches of the hood, mirrors and extra thick film on the headlights, I had my installer custom make a piece for the TOP of the rear bumper. That way you don't scratch the bumper taking stuff in and out of the trunk. I have the White Lightning Tri Coat. You could never match the paint color if you scratched it.

Alco had the windows tinted and a real pale gold pinstripe applied.

Hey... it's a DTS and I am old... I am allowed to have pinstripes.

Jim from Texas

Wow, the car looks amazing. The clear bra is really great to have, durable and protects the nice finish. Good luck with it, I hope to own one myself someday.

I got another place you could put in a custom strip.. the front of the roof. I already had a chip in the paint right where the roof meets the windshield from a truck kicking up a rock... 2 weeks after getting my car! Luckily I have a friend who does touch up/painting work for a body shop, so 20 bucks and a case of beer once a year to touch up all the chips / scratches that might have occured beats out the cost of a bra for me. Otherwise that would have been one of the first things done to my car, especially after that chip!

There is a kit that covers the A pillars and the front section of the roof available.

I've looked at clear bra's before but they raise two questions that I have yet to see an answer for:

1. What happens if you want to take it OFF? Suppose, for example, it starts to look ratty after a few years and you want to redo it? Can it be removed without damaging the paint?

2. Does it cause the paint to fade/wear unevenly so that after several years there is an obvious line between where the bra is or has been, and the area not covered?

1. = Yes just like tint, it's a film.

2. = No.

It's visible if you are standing right on top of the car, but if you are 3 feet back it can't be seen. I've had several walk right up to the car and not be able to see it until they are litterly next to it.

Since this is more or less my Mod thread, here's some pics with my last two additions. The smoked/clear tail lights and the chromed STS-V wheels from the dealership.
