Thanks for the input. I do believe my light tripped the first time because of water, but after that I moved the box to D3's revised location. Since then, the times the light has come on, there has been no water involved at all. I do not have my covers on my car, so the shorting issue shouldn't be a problem for me. Like I was telling Craig, it seems to be an intermitten issue. Sometimes it happens after 5 miles, other times not for over 100 miles. There has to be a common condition, I just havn't been able to figure out what it is yet.
James from D3 called me back and said that they are going to be sending new boxes out after tweaking their existing tune for 93 octane gas. he is going to call me friday to let me know when i can expect it to ship out to me.

Any word from James on when to expect the new tune? I have not heard back from Craig yet. I wonder how long it takes to re-tune the box for 93....
I called and talked to James and they are supposed to send it out beginning of the week.....i will believe it when i see it. i will call on monday and get a new update from them
I had a bunch of problems with D3 as well. I bought the power package when it first came out. When I hooked the black box up my car would act up and surge. I called them and then they asked me what year I had. Apparently the black box only supported an 06 and I had an 07. That really angered me because of the risk of hurting my car. They already knew what year I had in the order but I guess it did not dawn on them that there could be differences. That to me is really ignorant.
After 2-3 months of "I will ship a new one out next week", I threw a fit and aked for my money back. Then they shorted me on the refund.
It took them 3 months to fill the order on the stage 2 pipes.
Throw in their gouging prices and you can definately get a feel for their character.
I will say that I am extremely pleased with the Air Intake and Stage 2 pipes but I think they are too expensive.
If you do not have a local dyno shop Vector is the way to go. D3 adjusts fuel and air ratios only while Vector tweaks everything.

Here are just some of the extensive changes Vector makes to the STS-V ECM in the name of power, reliability and drivability:
• Proprietary extensive fuel and spark mapping for high octane fuels. THIS REQUIRES PREMIUM FUEL!
• Removal of the top speed limiter
• Elimination of the Power Enrichment delay that causes lean A/F ratios under load.
• Revised "nanny controls" for hellacious burnouts and launches This will be a must for anyone who wants to race their car! Not only does the 4.4L make more power and low end torque but the computer will now actually allow it to hit the ground.
• Increased timing in cruise areas for improved fuel economy: Beta and end users report a significant increase in fuel economy (2+ MPG); your mileage may vary.
• Raised rev limiter to accommodate the engines new power band.
There are many more changes but these are the highlights.
Hosepower gains are large under the curve but peak to peak this unit typically gains 30-40horsepower at the tires on a Mustang Dyno. Results depend on fuel used, weather conditions and vehicle condition. This tune has shown to reduce 1/4 mile times by around .3-.5 second.
Vector has been doing this a long time and they are an absolute pleasure to work with. Getting their tune was the best thing I did for my car.
What did Vector Charge? Did you just have them provide the tune or did they instal it as well?
I had my car washed yesterday and the D3 Box must have gotten wet somehow, the car wouldn't move. I had to disconnect it to get it home.. We'll see what happens when it dries out.
