And for all those concerned, it is a lease so worst case I have it for another 12 months (if they ever fix it). |

2nd: I can't believe they're not totaling that car . Wow.
3rd: I'd recommend the brake pedal for slowing down on wet roads in the future, as a sudden gear change can upset the vehicle (as you discovered).
4th: I'm no engineer, but I would suspect the Passenger Airbag didn't deploy due to the angle of the crash. The Driver's corner of the car took all the impact.

By definition, that car is FUBAR. |

I read this today. http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...black-box.html (The GM black box)
I'm wondering if this could be of help in 1. why the other airbag did not deploy. 2. If there was something happening with the car that caused the accident. 3. If its been tampered with (as in the thread) that may give you more options.
Lastly as far as the car not being totaled what happens when you turn it back in after the lease? You may want to talk to them and see how they feel before its too late. ie. are they going to hit you with some fes for not returning it in the same shape as you got it? I know if they have to detail it upon arrival they will back charge for that. You know they will take a big hit when they go to resell. Just a thought. Mike |

If I were you, I would get something in writing from the body shop that indicates they will complete car to the standards of the leasing inspector. If not, you could end up paying several thousand dollars to leasing company. |

Push your insurance company and they will give in trust me.
After it is totalled get a lawyer and go after GM. |

First you have a woman in the car.
Your trying to impress her. You are showing her how to use the stick shift of the automatic. She graps the wrong stick you jerk to the left, she still has stick in hand, her rear rises from the seat. Hince there was not enough weight in the passenger seat to deploy the air bag!
am I close?
Do I get a prize????

After it is totalled get a lawyer and go after GM. | 1. Hire attorney.
2. Pay him/her $50,000 to $400,000--GM will drag it out.
3. GM has attorneys on payroll anyway or on retainer.
4. GM has a budget for lawsuits.
5. After 3 years of wrangling in court, judge says "Go to arbitration."
6. Attorney timeclock starts all over.
7. Guess who wins while all this is going on?
8. Not plaintiff.
9. Another couple hundred thousand in attorney fees.
10. If attorney is good, you get $5,000 towards the purchase of another CTS V.
Not sure you have ever been involved in a lawsuit. |

| | Cadillac Owners Fanatic | | | | | Re: STS-V Crash With Airbag Failure & Stability Control Failure when i purchased my 06 sts6 i thought i had a problem withthe passenger airbag sensor circuitry; neither of my kids could activate the circuit when they were seated in the front...it turned out to be their weight, or alack of it: the limit is 90 or 93 lbs to acivate the sensor.
sorry to hear about your accident...do you think that the car had a malfunction or did you overdrive the car?

The car is still in the shop and has no ETA on being fixed. They actually cut off and rewelded the front frame rail and wheel well. I am still fighting for this thing to be totalled. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
