spare engine?

Remove this ad
Looking for a spare STS-V engine. Complete running engine for a hybrid project. Anyone know of a totaled STS-V that might have a good donor engine/electronics/tranny? Tranny is optional if the STS-V engine will bolt up to a manual GM tranny. Anyone know the answer to a manual tranny as well?

Re: spare engine?

The reason I am asking is I want to see if it is financially feesable to do a S2000 heart transplant with a STS-V motor. Where would I get the weight specs-motor mount locations-tranny options from?

Re: spare engine?

Of course the donor motor would get a smaller pulley to get closer to 600 hp. But wouldn't that be sick, a track car with all the hp & tq you needed on tap and not change the weight dynamics too much with the light 4.3 N*

Re: spare engine?

The sapce is there in the S2000 as someone is already putting a LS1 motor in one and got it to fit with very little modification. The 4.3 N* has got to fit like a glove.

Re: spare engine?

Hey bro, not to be rude, but did you realize of the six posts (not counting this one) they're all yours??

Sorry, just found that amusing. No offense, really.

Actually, it's an interesting idea. Let us know how it turns out.

Re: spare engine?

if you're going that route you're honestly looking at a lot and i mean A LOT of work... take it from someone who has done multiple hybrid projects...

why not build one of these

supercharged V6... more than enough power... without a driver the cars weigh in at about 1350#

i'm trying to import a kit right now... but i was being a stickler and wanted a real british body/frame

Re: spare engine?

That doesn't look much like a sleeper. I would think if that pulled up next to me at the light I might get the idea it's prety fast. :-)

He used to stand out on street talking to himself. Then he discovered the internet. Less stress on his ears and vocal cords.

LAWLZ!

I know this forum is slow, but damn, nobody here is going to give out awards to Elvis for effort!

W-T-F... Apparently someone thinks the LC3 matches the dimensions of the LSx with DOHC heads and a supercharger on top... all behind an auto in an S2000? I suppose weight isn't a consideration either.

I do know of a salvage yard who likely has a spare engine and transmission, but there's no way in hell it should even be considered for a car like an S2K.

Re: spare engine?

What would you have me put it in? A S2K is light, agile, and if it can tale a LS1 it surely can take a LC3. I mostly wanted it for a track car and maybe street legal for some weekend fun. I think a LS1 is outplayed these days. Why not bring a LC3 to the froefront of hot roding and tuners?
