TC kicking in when TC turned off?

I noticed that other day I turned off TC. When I took off from a light with the tires spinning, it felt like TC kicked itself in and stopped the tires from spinning. Is this common? It would really suck if I was in the middle of a drift and TC kicks in and rights the car. Especially when I intend to get the tail out of shape.

You have to make sure Stabilitrak is in competition mode, or completely off.

If you want to drift the car, make sure that TC is switched completely off.

How do I do that? I thought hitting the TC button would do it. Is there something I am missing?

Push the TC button until the DIC display reads Traction Control OFF. The button is located where your cupholders are next to the hazard button.

Pushing it once puts the car in competitive mode and pushing it twice puts the car in traction control off mode.

Aero, let me just correct you a second.

Push the TC button once and you turn off traction control, but stability control stays on fully.

Push the TC button a second time (within a few seconds) and the car goes into competition mode. Competition mode turns off the traction control plus it lessens the stability control allowing you to slide the car more.

Push the TC button a third time and hold it for like 5 seconds and everything (traction and stability) is shut off.

    Hope that helps.

This makes sense because I tried the push button twice and Stabilitrack still kicked in. Off to push the button a third time.

Off you have to push and hold until you get the display that says all is turned off. That's like 5 seconds.

And listen to Urby, off is seriously rip roarin nastiness.

You are right...my bad. Sorry about the misinformation. Thanks Kadonny for correcting me.

Re: TC kicking in when TC turned off?

Hitting the TC button 3 times didn't do it either. It just cycled through and turned on TC on the 3rd push. unless it doesn't tell you everything is off.

Push and HOLD the button in for like 5 seconds, maybe even more. Just keep holding it, you'll get it.
