Take this for what it is worth. The finance manager, a friend of mine, at the local caddy dealership said his cost was $2300 to match the Cadillac CPO warranty. Cadillac CPO is the only way to go, not to mention the warranty is less than $1000 given you can get lower interest rates.
This cost will vary from model to model as well as year and mileage at the time the warranty is written. Most warranties dont cover all the things CPO cover, like batteries, bulbs, radios, speakers, trim items like hazy or cracking headlights or peeling nav/radio knobs. Also most extended warranties have a deductible, CPO does not.
A certified Cadillac is also fully transferrable to the next owner without any hassle, cost or paperwork, definately not true of extended warranties.
Caddy CPO is the best thing on earth! MY mum has it on her DTS. The CPO pays for itself with the lower financing rates. She got 2.9% for 36 months.
I would not consider a caddy if it was not CPO. There are just too many cars out there to "settle" for one that is not CPO.
