    Re: Radar Dectector

Run a couple of searches on "radar detectors".

As I recall there were a couple of folks that pinned out and voltage tested the wiring to the mirror and the genreal area in search of switched 12v.

If the answer is not posted. IM those who were looking. They may have found it and not posted it to the boards.

Good luck and please post it if you find a switched hot wire to use...

The 12V plug in the center console does not turn off. I will run a search again for switched 12V.

    Thanks.

    Re: Radar Dectector

After trying the fuse boxes under the back seat, I did not find any that were switched. Most were hot all the time or 5 volts. These 12 v fuses must be upstream of the switching. Other forums have suggested to get switched 12 volts, go to the reading lite or mirror area and look there.

    Thanks

I went to the reading lite console and pulled down with a thin blade screwdriver. Has 6 metal clips that hold it on. I used the switched 12v that supply power to the 2 reading lites. There is a 3 wire plug that powers both lites. The hot wire is a green wire with a white stripe on it. The ground wire is black. Tapped into those two. Power is turned off after 10 minutes each time. Easy to do. Thanks to all for your help.

I grabbed my 12v from the passenger side visor lights. They auto switch off if I forget to turn off the detector. Since the visor lights wires run very close to where I need the power, it was simple.
