Does "Accessories" mode drain car battery?

    Hello0o0o0o,

I'm going to the beach next weekend .. Well, we need some music there to shake shake

Anyways, I think of using my STS' sound system this time.. So, we like to have one hour of continuous music...

I will not let the engine run all the time of course, I have to put it on Accessories mode

but one hour in "Acc", monitor is on, and music is playing... Don't you think it may drain my car's battery?

Any use of the battery in ACC mode will cause it to discharge but one hour shouldn't kill it.

As I recall the manual advises to run the engine occasionally during extended Acc use due to the obvious drain.

Acc also shuts off automatically after 20minutes I believe as well...

Correct and 2nd on behalf of CAjonkey.

Manual states run the vehicle and it is on a 20 min timer. I thought (not sure) if you could lengthen.

    ?Anybody?

Timers in these vehicles and not adjustable... They are there for battery rundown protection...

Actually, you can disable the rundown protection by switching two very obvious fuse positions in the fusebox. I wouldn't recommend it though, because no one likes having to get a Cadillac jump started.
